Tunnels in my brain-narrative
Tunnels in my brain wind and burrow through layers of memory, fear, and longing, carving hidden passageways where dreams rehearse survival and desire at the same time.
Inspired loosely by Freud and the threat simulation theory, these tunnels become places where the mind stages its quiet drills—testing dangers, imagining escapes, and learning how to defend itself against shadows that feel real enough to hurt.
Within them live unconsciously repressed conflicts, but also softer remnants of childhood wishes, preserved like echoes in the dark.
Even as we age, these early hopes and fears continue to travel through the same neural corridors, resurfacing in dreams that both unsettle and comfort us, reminding us that what once shaped us still moves beneath the surface, patiently, persistently alive.
